Vashon Island Strawberry Festival 

I wanted to create a design that told a story, and played with idea of folklore.  I would hear stories about how when Strawberry Festival began, it was a place for farmers to bring their large harvests to share and sell.  This was a large contrast to the Strawberry Festival I grew up with that only had Strawberries actually featured as a topping on a desert or two.  

I created this design with the dream in mind of farmers bringing mythical large strawberries to the festival that were large enough to be chopped by axes.
